Hand Drawn Ink & Watercolour Pattern Design by Joy-Louise Waterman
The drawings and watercolour elements from this pattern started life in my sketchbook.
Includes hand drawings of jewels, sun, moon, starts, constellations, planets, crystals and clouds.
Once the pieces were scanned into Photoshop I worked on editing the pieces so they were super crisp and clear but still had a bit of a hand drawn feel to them in the lines.
I started coming up with a colour palette too which complemented the water colour pieces.
I then worked the composition onto a repeat pattern design using Photoshop.
I have used this pattern within the design of my first self published How To Doodle book which was boho and celestial themed.
I used it within the books cover design and a limited edition gift tin edition for Christmas of 2020. Which included the instructions and equipment needed to recreate these types of drawings themselves.
