I've always loved paisley patterns and fancied trying to make my own, with a romantic twist.
I started with a paisley style pear drop motif, surrounded by hearts and was inspired from there to draw florals with heart elements and paisley flower heads, standalone hearts with paisley pattern elements and some other little flourishes to complement.
The piece started as black ink drawings in my sketchbook. Which I scanned and coloured digitally using Procreate. I then pieces these individual pieces together into a pattern tile and started to build my repeat design from there.
